A Special Occasion Of Sorts

This post is very long overdue but it seems to have come at a fortune time, to allow me to participate in Sophistique Noir's monthly theme, albeit in an unconventional way (I know it's been ages since I did an outfit post, I've been so lazy lately).

 

I've finally opened my Etsy shop! I talked about doing so last year when I started making chokers. I would have done this sooner but you used to need a credit card to open an Etsy shop and I can't find mine anywhere (I put it somewhere safe...). Luckily you can now link it to a paypal account instead.

My shop is called Flightless Phoenix Designs, a name I've been using at craft fairs and so on for a few years with my sock animals and other hand-made things.

This is the logo I'm using for now. I know it's very rough but I'm no artist, I drew this on a lunch-break at work and edited it in photoshop. The font is based on a vintage typography sample from The Graphics Fairy. I'm sure I'll have to pay an artist to re-draw it for me if my shop takes off, but fortunately I'm lucky enough to have plenty of friends who'd give me mates rates =]

At the moment there are only a few things in my shop, but I'll try to add more soon, and take better pictures too! If there is anything you'd like to see, please leave a comment below!

And The Winner Is...

I'm sorry that I'm a little late announcing the winner of my give-away. I was away at the weekend visiting my brother and meeting my baby nephew! I'll post some pictures of him soon. The prize was actually drawn last night but I fell asleep at 9 by accident! I'm working extra hours and my body is struggling to adjust.

I wrote down the name's of everyone that commented on my post (except those who asked not to be entered):

I scrunched them all up and put them into an empty Quality Street tin (I knew Christmas chocolate had more than one use!). Sorry it wasn't a hat, my nice ones are at Dad's:

I was going to do another give-away at 100 followers, but if I carry on gaining followers at this rate I'll be bankrupted by doing a give-away for every 25 followers gained =P I'm at little astonished that so many of you want to read my rambling and look at my ugly mug! I had this plan for when I reached 75 followers, but last week I jumped from 74 to 83 (now 85!!) which rather took me by surprise! Thank you all so much!

'The little book of Goth' a very tongue in cheek look at the subculture, which was similarly a joke present.

In addition to this I will be including a code which entitles you to a free necklace from my Etsy shop (which I hope to open by the end of Feb). If I cannot get the shop up and running in that time I will contact the winner and arrange to send them a necklace directly. This post will give you some idea of the necklaces I'll be selling.

I know I promised to put the names into my top hat, but Yesterday I lost it =[ so I had to use my bowler hat instead. Hopefully I will get my hat back next weekend, but at the moment I can't get hold of anyone from the pub where I left it =[

First Cemetery Dreams give-away!

I've been meaning to do this for a while, I was going to do a give-away when I reached 50 followers but I got a bit distracted with other things, not to mention the identity theft fiasco, so now I have 59 followers. More people to enter the give-away I guess =]

This little fellow is made from a brand new sock and some felt with buttons for eyes. He stands on his own because his feet are weighted (with magnets).

He will be winging his way to one of your homes, with other gifts (which will depend on the winners location, because for instance I couldn't send chocolate fangs to a country with strict food import laws).
