The new arrival

So last weekend I went to London to meet my little nephew! I didn't manage to get too many pictures, babies are hard to photograph I think. I didn't manage to get any pictures of Logan either (because 5 year olds running around with light-sabers are even harder to photograph =P)

I'm going to do the proud auntie thing and post the ones I do have here though anyway.
If you dislike babies or me being mushy look away now! Don't say I didn't warn you!

This is my dad being a proud granddad, although I still think he's too young to have 2 grand-kids! He best enjoy them though, he's not getting any more from me =P

This is my brother's mum (he's my half bro)

My sister-in-law Susy with the little one:

And finally my brother San being a totally modern dad, tablet computer in one hand so get through a hard level on Angry Birds Star Wars for Logan and baby in the other =P

Sometimes I'm sad that due to the practicalities of parenting my brother and sister-in-law never get to goth up anymore. No one could tell that Susy used to lend me her purple lipstick or that Dan has cyberdog t-shirts that are nearly as old as me from these pictures =P Mostly though I'm just glad I have 2 nephews to spoil rotten!

I don't have any pictures of me with Lucas either, partly because those are on dad's camera (if any of them came out) and partly because I only held him for a few minutes. Babies can sense your fear like horses apparently. He knew I was scared of dropping him!

Too many pictures, too little time.

You'll be pleased to know though that my blog has stopped getting hits from the dating site; I think my post must have warned the person off because when I got home from work to investigate I couldn't find anything related to me on the site. Phew! I still think watermarking is worthwhile though to avoid problems in the future.

I've been going through every picture I have ever uploaded to this blog and adding watermarks to everything. There are almost 150 pictures... Most of them are of me, when did I get so vain? Understandably this is taking a bit of time and changing over all of the pictures will do too. I  think I'll aim to re-do the pictures from one month every week because It's driving me crazy, my laptop is so slow that I wasted 6 hours yesterday water-marking. I'm just putting 'Cemetery Dreams' on everything at the moment, because I'm hoping to start using tumblr as well so didn't want to put my blogspot url.

In the meantime here's an outfit that I came across in my pictures whilst I was looking for blog images. I don't think I ever posted it here (I've only gotten to May with my image re-doing so far so I'm not sure). It's just a causual steampunk outfit. I took the pictures because I had a request from Brass Goggles for a close-up of how I made the jeans into pirate trousers.

I'm also currently preparing a surprise for you all which will be posted tomorrow so watch this space =]

kittens!

I was going to post yesterday with something cool but I got distracted by the adorable kittens I'm looking after for my friend while she is on holiday.

They don't like me typing because it makes the light glint off my ring so they come chew my fingers with their tiny sharp teeth.

I'm typing this post in small sections when they fall asleep!

In fact photographing them is pretty difficult too! It's hard to take a picture when a kitten is playing with the strap on the camera!

Any time I get up one of them steals my warm seat too, making it hard to get to the laptop!

But they are so damn cute and so endlessly entertaining that I don't mind =]

I hope you are all having a good weekend and I will try to do some real blogging tomorrow night!

My life in pictures

I’ve been going through my computer backing up files in case I have to take it to a repair shop. I stumbled across a load of old pictures on my portable hard-drive and thought you guys might find them amusing.

Here’s a time line of me over the last 10 years:

This was my 12th birthday:

Age 13 on a school trip to Germany:

Then when I was 14, I finally persuaded my mum to let me get rid of the dreadful fringe.
Here I am at the local under 18’s rock club, with that awkward ‘I’m growing out my hair’ thing going on.

At 15 I started doing silly things with my make-up, just look at the baby-bat doodles:

This is one of only 2 times in my life that I wore black lipstick. It really doesn’t suit me!

I started to play bass. I was in a band with my best-friend Pip. We 'broke-up' because we couldn't find a guitarist!

I also got my first boyfriend. I’m really just posting this ‘cause I miss my trench-coat. Also the height difference still amuses me!

Here is me on my 16th birthday, I look surprisingly cheerful considering I was suffering my first really bad hangover.

did a lot of drinking at 16…I’m still remembered as ‘Martini Girl’ by my friend's mum because I drank all all her Martini at new year, as can be seen in this picture. The guy with me is the boyfriend I gave the trench-coat to; he’d been wearing it for 3 months and stretched the shoulders so much it didn't fit me any more!

This is me at Prom with the only other ‘Goth’ in my girl’s school of over 2000 pupils.

Age 17:

This was my halloween costume =]

This was the first outing of my top hat:

Age 18:

First glass of absinthe.

Salsa night in fresher's week:

Age 19:
I'd just made that chocker =] I still wear it but I've had to glue the cameo back on 4 times =P

Age 20:

This picture was actually taken at Ann Summer's night at our local rock club about 10 minutes before I met Ash (the lovely boyfriend).

21:

This is what I wore to Ash sister’s wedding. See, I didn’t wear ALL black =P Dark blue is a summer colour, right?

Graduation day with the other people from my course:

22.
And finally a recent picture taken by my Dad in the woods:.

I hope you enjoyed this little trip down my memory lane!
